Mainpower Electricity Distribution Warns Enugu Customers of Impending Disconnections Over Unpaid Bills

Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has issued a public notice to electricity consumers across Enugu State, urging them to settle their outstanding energy bills before the upcoming deadline to avoid disconnection from the power supply.

In a statement released by the management on Friday, the company specifically called on customers in the Abakpa, Awkunanaw, Nsukka, and Ogui districts to take immediate action, emphasizing that the deadline for bill payment is the 15th of every month, covering energy consumed in the previous month.

“We encourage our customers to pay their bills before our disconnection team arrives,” a spokesperson for MEDL stated. “Waiting for marketers to visit could lead to unnecessary reconnection fees and avoidable service interruptions.”

To assist customers struggling with accumulated debts, the company also announced the continuation of its Accelerated Settlement of Arrears Project (ASAP). The initiative offers a special discount for customers who clear their arrears within a specific timeframe. “This initiative is designed to help our customers clear their debts while benefiting from reduced costs,” the spokesperson explained.

Customers can make payments at any Mainpower Cash Office or through authorized collection agents. The company emphasized that timely payments are essential to maintaining reliable service delivery across its network. “When bills are paid on time, it allows us to serve our customers better,” the spokesperson added.

MEDL urged customers to act swiftly to avoid disruptions and contribute to a more stable and efficient electricity supply in Enugu State.

Customers and residents are advised to share this information widely to ensure no one is caught off guard when the disconnection exercise begins.
