Kidnapping: Most Dangerous Roads to Avoid As Nigerian Voice of Truth Raises Alarm

The Nigerian Voice of Truth has issued a chilling warning to citizens and travelers across Nigeria: Avoid the boundaries between Benue, Plateau, Taraba, and Nasarawa States. These areas, once peaceful corridors linking some of Nigeria's most agriculturally rich regions, have now been declared “death traps” due to escalating kidnappings, killings, and the unchecked spread of terrorist activity.

According to the statement released under case reference C/A/P/BENUE982112/CR/2025, the group expressed deep concern over what it describes as “state failure” in Benue, where over 80 communities have reportedly been taken over by Fulani terrorists. The group questioned the competence of the Benue State Governor, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, accusing him of inaction in the face of overwhelming violence.

“It is a pity that a sitting governor will be crying for help. Why were you voted for?” the group asked. “The primary duties of a leader are to protect lives and properties, not to endanger them.”

The Nigerian Voice of Truth condemned the governor’s appeals for assistance, insisting that “governors seeking help to curb insecurity don't deserve to be in office.” The organization emphasized that leadership should come with decisive action and effective strategies, not public outcry and helplessness.

The once-celebrated Food Basket of the Nation, Benue State, is now “bleeding,” the group lamented. Schools, homes, farmlands, and marketplaces have become scenes of horror, as families flee daily from brutal attacks. The violence, it added, is not confined to Benue alone — similar bloodshed is occurring in Plateau State, with little to no coordinated response from authorities.

The Voice of Truth warned that the roads and routes connecting Benue, Plateau, Taraba, and Nasarawa have become increasingly dangerous, calling on the federal government and relevant security agencies to declare a state of emergency across these volatile boundaries.

In a sobering appeal, the group reminded Nigerians of the importance of competent leadership at the polls:

“Citizens must learn to vote wisely. Too many governors today are slow, inept, and unfit for the demands of their offices. Their failure is costing lives.”

The Nigerian Voice of Truth concluded by urging Governor Alia to act swiftly and decisKidnapping: Most Dangerous Roads to Avoid As Nigerian Voice of Truth Raises Alarm 3ively to restore peace to the state, stating that “how it is done is not our concern — what matters is that the people of Benue live in peace and security.”

As the blood of the innocent continues to spill across Benue and beyond, one thing remains clear: urgent, concrete action is no longer an option — it is a necessity.
