JUST IN: Enugu Commissioner Throws Support Behind Nkanu Youths Economic Summit 2025

In a major boost for youth development and empowerment, the Enugu State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, has officially endorsed the upcoming Nkanu Youths Economic Summit and Apprenticeship Programme 2025, describing it as a "visionary and timely intervention" for sustainable economic growth among young people in the state.

The endorsement came during a high-level meeting held at the Ministry of Justice, Enugu, where the organisers of the initiative, led by the President of Nkanu Youth Organization, Comrade Dika David, paid a courtesy visit to present the summit's blueprint and objectives.

Dr. Udeh, while addressing the delegation, commended the bold and strategic thinking behind the summit and reiterated the Enugu State Government’s commitment under Governor Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to support transformative programmes that promote entrepreneurship, skill acquisition, and digital empowerment among the youth.

“This initiative reflects the true spirit of Nkanu ingenuity and resilience. It aligns perfectly with the vision of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration to create a smart, productive, and self-reliant youth population,” Dr. Udeh stated.

He further applauded the programme’s integration of the traditional Igbo apprenticeship system, Igba-Boi, which he described as a proven socio-economic model that has historically elevated families and communities across the Southeast.

“Our youths must be equipped not only with education but with hands-on skills and practical tools that guarantee long-term financial independence. This summit does exactly that,” he added.

Comrade Dika David, in his remarks, expressed deep appreciation to the Commissioner for his unwavering support and encouragement. He assured that the summit, scheduled to hold on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Enugu International Conference Centre, will mark a turning point in the economic trajectory of Nkanu youths.

He noted that the programme will feature mentorship, industry-based apprenticeship placements, and post-training business start-up support in various fields such as fashion, agriculture, tech repair, catering, metal works, hairdressing, carpentry, and more.

Registration for the summit is ongoing via https://forms.gle/TB3RASWtN3nucrSW7, and participation is free.

The Nkanu Youths Economic Summit 2025 is already drawing widespread attention from stakeholders across the public and private sectors, and Dr. Kingsley Udeh’s endorsement is seen as a significant milestone in the drive to unlock opportunities for a new generation of leaders, artisans, and entrepreneurs in Enugu State.
