Authorities in Saudi Arabia have reportedly arrested two women believed to be the wife and mother of Ado Aliero, one of Nigeria’s most notorious bandit leaders.
According to sources cited by Daily Trust, the arrest was carried out in Medina following an intelligence-led operation. The two women were allegedly living under false identities.
The operation is part of an intensified effort to dismantle transnational networks that support terrorism and banditry in Nigeria’s Northwest.
Ado Aliero has been a central figure in numerous abductions and violent attacks across Zamfara State and neighboring regions. He remains high on Nigeria’s most-wanted list, and his network is suspected to have both local and international backing.
Authorities believe the arrested women could provide critical intelligence on Aliero’s whereabouts, activities, and funding sources. As investigations proceed, Nigerian and Saudi security agencies are said to be working closely together.
If confirmed, the arrests could significantly weaken the command and logistics base of terror groups threatening the stability of northern Nigeria.
