Two members of the House of Representatives, Kabiru Usman and Abdullahi Sani, who were elected under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), have officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Their defection was announced by the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, during Thursday’s plenary session.
The lawmakers, who represent constituencies in Kano State, said they were leaving the NNPP due to ongoing internal conflicts within the party.
In addition, Oluwole Oke, who represents Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in Osun State, also announced his defection to the APC.
The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, was present at the plenary to support the defecting lawmakers.
