Veteran Nigerian singer, Oritsefemi, has stirred conversations online following a candid revelation about his past relationship with global music star, Burna Boy.
In a statement that has since gone viral, Oritsefemi recounted a time during Burna Boy’s early career struggles when the self-acclaimed African Giant allegedly sought refuge in his Lekki mansion. According to him, Burna Boy left his own home due to emotional tension with his mother and turned to Oritsefemi for support.
“No doubt, Burnaboy is so big now. But I remember when he was on the come up, Burna once left his own house to come live with me in my Lekki mansion,” Oritsefemi revealed.
“He came cry!ng to me, shedding hot têars, telling me that his müm was really sufføcating him. This is why it surprises me that same person today will mention OGs who've impacted his life, but he’ll not ackn0wledge me. It's life sha.”
The singer’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions across social media, with many expressing shock while others questioned the timing and motive behind the disclosure.
Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, has not yet responded to the claims. Known for his reserved stance on personal matters, the Grammy-winning artiste has frequently credited his mother, Bose Ogulu, as a central figure in his career, making Oritsefemi’s claims even more surprising.
As fans await Burna Boy’s reaction, the development has reignited debates about the dynamics between rising stars and the veterans who supported them during their formative years.
