Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, the 19th Olu of Epe Kingdom, has died. The respected monarch passed away in the early hours of Saturday, 31st May 2025.
Confirming the news, High Chief Odedeogboro Balogun of Epe Kingdom, Musiliu Adeniyi, said the king’s death is true and that his burial will take place today at 4 PM, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Before ascending the throne, Oba Adewale held prominent traditional titles including Otun-Balogun and Balogun, the third-highest chieftaincy titles in the kingdom. He was also a retired Director of Administration at the Ministry of Education and once served as Executive Secretary at the Ministry of Lands.
The Epe Kingdom mourns the loss of a revered leader who dedicated his life to public service and traditional leadership.
