The Joint Security Team comprising the Nigeria Police Force and operatives of the Anambra State Vigilante Service has continued its simultaneous offensive operations across the three senatorial districts of the state, with significant breakthroughs recorded in Anambra South Senatorial District.
In a coordinated operation on May 19, 2025, six suspects were arrested in Oko community and its environs for various criminal offences including armed robbery and vandalism. Among those apprehended were Anagor Chinedu (25) and Anagor Rapuluchukwu (23), both arrested at Ifite Village, Oko. The operatives recovered an English Beretta pistol from the suspects, who confessed to being members of a cult group known as the Beggars’ Confraternity. They also identified their alleged armourer as a notorious cultist and gunrunner popularly known as ‘Kiss Me’.
Following this confession, a manhunt has been launched for the suspect ‘Kiss Me,’ who is reportedly responsible for terrorizing Oko community and suspected to be heavily involved in the proliferation of arms and cult-related violence in the area.
In a separate operation, the security team swiftly responded to a distress call at the permanent site of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, where some individuals were caught vandalizing electrical installations. Four suspects—Chukwuka Usulor, Chukwuemeka Michael, Ikenna Oke, and Ebuka Okeke—were arrested at the scene. The operatives recovered large quantities of vandalized electrical cables from the suspects.
