A tragic incident unfolded on May 6, 2025, in the Ogidan Sangotedo area of Lagos State, where a man lost his life following a heated altercation at a lounge.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, the conflict began around 8 p.m. when a disagreement over right of passage escalated between two men. During the argument, 46-year-old Philip Ogbuehi allegedly struck the victim with a punch to the chest, causing him to collapse.
Eyewitnesses quickly rushed the unidentified victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later confirmed dead by medical personnel.
The suspect, Ogbuehi, has since been arrested by the police and is currently in custody as investigations continue. Authorities have yet to release the name of the deceased, pending official identification and notification of next of kin.
The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that justice will be served, emphasizing that the incident underscores the dangers of escalating minor disputes into violence.
