At least 100 persons have been abducted, with several others killed, including a mother and her two-week-old baby, following a brutal attack by armed bandits in Kebbi State.
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening at Dan Muntari village, located in the Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area. Security sources revealed that the assailants stormed the village in large numbers, unleashing terror on residents and leaving a trail of bloodshed.
Among the fatalities was a woman who had given birth only two weeks earlier. She and her infant were reportedly killed during the raid.
The development was disclosed on Thursday by a security analyst known as Bakatsine, who shared the information via a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“On Tuesday evening, bandits attacked Dan Muntari village in Danko Wasagu LGA, Kebbi State. They killed many people, including a woman who had given birth just two weeks earlier and her newborn baby. They also abducted at least 100 people,” the post read.
As of the time of this report, no official statement has been released by the Kebbi State Government or security agencies regarding the attack. The whereabouts of the abducted victims also remain unknown.
