[VIDEO] HAPPENING NOW!! Supreme Court Judgment: INEC Locks Out LP Stakeholders Trying To Submit CTC

The Labour Party (LP) has raised concerns over the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) alleged refusal to provide Certified True Copies (CTCs) of a recent Supreme Court judgment. LP stakeholders attempting to submit the CTCs were reportedly denied access to INEC's offices.

Farouk Ibrahim, the National Secretary of LP, stated that despite multiple official requests, the Supreme Court has yet to furnish the party with the CTC of its judgment regarding the appeal against the Court of Appeal's ruling on the 2023 Presidential election. This delay has impeded the party's efforts to proceed with necessary legal and administrative actions.

In a related development, the Imo State chapter of LP reported that INEC has been denying its legal team access to the CTCs of documents used in the state’s governorship election. The party alleges that these actions are deliberate attempts to frustrate its plans to challenge the election's outcome at the tribunal.

These incidents have intensified concerns about INEC's commitment to impartiality and transparency in electoral processes. LP stakeholders are calling on INEC to uphold democratic principles by ensuring timely access to essential legal documents.
