“Seyi Tinubu and Security Detail in Front of My Hotel Room, Planning to Murder Me” – NANS President Raises Alarm

In a startling revelation that has sparked widespread concern, Atiku Abubakar Isah, the newly elected President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has accused Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of attempting to assassinate him in Abuja.

Isah, who emerged as NANS President at the national convention held on February 27, 2025, raised the alarm in a phone call to SaharaReporters, alleging that Seyi Tinubu and his security operatives disrupted the association’s inauguration ceremony slated for Tuesday, April 29, at The Wells Carlton Hotel, Asokoro.

“At The Wells Carlton, Seyi Tinubu and his thugs are around to scatter our inauguration,” Isah said.

According to the student leader, efforts had been made to silence or bribe him prior to the ceremony. When that failed, he alleged, more sinister plans were set in motion.

“Seyi has just ordered for me to be assassinated after the plea to buy me with money failed,” he claimed.

Isah alleged that Seyi Tinubu instructed the hotel management to shut down operations, effectively locking in guests and preventing movement.

“He has instructed the management to shut down everything. They have just informed me. The inauguration was supposed to take place at 11am and the hall is already filled up. He is in front of my hotel room now to murder me with his security. My life is under threat,” he cried out.

An anonymous student leader described the situation as “deeply troubling” and an “attack on democratic processes” within the Nigerian student movement.

“This is not just about Atiku Isah. It’s about protecting student leadership from elite interference and violence,” the source said.

As of press time, there has been no official response from Seyi Tinubu or the presidency regarding the allegations.

The shocking accusations have raised urgent questions about freedom of association, the safety of student leaders, and the influence of political figures on student politics in Nigeria.
