INSECURITY: VP Shettima Residence Attacked (CCTV REPORT)

On Wednesday morning, security personnel foiled an attempted break-in at the Maiduguri home of Vice President Kashim Shettima. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. at his residence in the New GRA area of Maiduguri, Borno State.

The suspect, identified as Ibrahim, tried to breach the house’s security by climbing over a fortified perimeter wall and accessing the back fence via the Gadabul River bank. However, he was unaware of a surveillance system in place.

The security team apprehended Ibrahim and shot him in the leg when he attempted to flee. He was subsequently transported to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital under tight security for medical attention.

Authorities are still investigating Ibrahim's motive, and further details are expected soon. The suspect, a resident of either Meri or Maduganari, has a wife and children.
