Gov Mbah Constitutes LOC for Enugu 2026 National Sports Festival, Appoints Mary Onyali, Ekweremadu, Nnaji, Others



Governor Peter Mbah has approved the composition of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 23rd  National Sports Festival, Enugu 2026.

The committee, chaired by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu Jr, is composed of seasoned professionals with extensive experience in sports administration, event management, and youth development.

In  a press release signed by the Director, Information Enugu State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dan Onwuegbuna, the approved LOC members were carefully selected for their competence, dedication, and exceptional contributions to the sporting sector.

The committee members bring a wealth of expertise to guarantee the successful planning and execution of a world-class National Sports Festival. This event will not only highlight Enugu as a prominent sports hub but also set new standards of excellence.

The committee members are Bamiduro Olumide, Secretary General, Mary Onyali, Aku Akazu, Victor Okorie, Blessing Chisalam Ekwe, Davidson Owumi and Tony Ugwu.

Others are Henry Chinedu Okorie, Jonathan Nnaji, Boniface Onovo, Ephraim Ochonma and Obiora Obasi.

The State Government expresses its full confidence in the team and their ability to organize and deliver an outstanding National Sports Festival.

Speaking on the approval, Honourable Ekweremadu Jr. reaffirmed the state’s commitment to hosting a festival of international standards.

 “This committee is made up of some of the most capable and experienced individuals in the sports industry. With their expertise and our government’s unwavering support, Enugu 2026 will be an extraordinary event that leaves a lasting legacy.”
