As a resident of Enugu with a distinctive participant in the history of the making of this current state administration, I write with facts and figures of the salient leadership achievements of Governor Mbah which earned you the prestigious "leadership governor of the year".
1) SECURITY: Enugu's latest security architecture is estimated to be the best after Abuja. Though Enugu, known for its peaceful environment has always been home for all, but prior to the emergence of Governor Mbah's administration, there were general speculations, that sympathizing with the non state actors in Nigeria, who championed an unusual and serious security bridge, especially in the south east, was the only diplomatic option to apply. But for how long are we going to continue with such an unproductive and unrealistic approach, to the security of lives and properties of our people, formed the greater opinion of this current administration.
Inspired on providing solutions and leading the people to that safe status where ndi Enugu wants to be, was non negotiable during that very season. So employing decisiveness in leadership was paramount for the governor, to drive his developmental blueprints for the enterprising people of ndi Enugu, which centers on taking his people to the top, in an echo friendly business environment. To bring about this to reality, the governor resolved to beckoned on his conscience as the root of all true courage, to exercise brave policies, that have permanently put to an end, such unusual economic sabotage of monday sit at home saga.
Such supreme decisiveness in leadership, has further placed Enugu among the league of three safest states in Nigeria, after Lagos and Abuja, with ease of doing business. The influx of many investors in the state are practical evidence of the ideal business habitat, that this administration has moulded for the economy to thrive.
The recent commissioning of the command and control center that houses the high profile surveillance system, which not only provides security to ndi Enugu, but to the neighbouring states like Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi and Kogi, is another landmark achievement of this administration.
2) EDUCATION: From the very first moment of this state administration, governor Mbah with reconcilable and verifiable international exposure and experience, came with the mantra of introducing a new educational learning model, which he termed experiential learning, that will replace the long outdated learning system. His administration believed that this experiential learning conforms with the education model of developed countries like the US, UK, Canada, China, Japan, etc. Which places more emphasis and priorities on experiential or practical learning over the traditional theory learning technique.
His Excellency maintained that in line with the global trend, compulsory building, investing and equipping hosts of our young students, with the emerging tech skills like Artificial intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Data analysis, Cloud Computation, Robotics, basic programming knowledge, etc, is inevitable under his watch as the governor of the state.
To move our young people to the next generation tech skills, overhauling of this current learning process was keen to him, and to ensure smooth take off and sustainable implementation, there came the motivation to establish and construct green smart schools in each political block (ward) of the state, with a cumulative of 260 smart schools.
As a leader with unquestionable integrity, he remains resolute in his unparalleled visions for the upgrade and facelift of the educational model in the state, to the international best practices.
To give the foundation of this educational model a solid background, every student is equipped with compulsory orientation that each of the students, must acquire a tech skills before graduation from the school. With such guided ideology of early exposition to tech skills, it has been predicted that Enugu in the nearest future, will be flooded with breeds of greater tech giants like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, etc.
3) METROPOLITAN FACELIFT: Enugu metropolis under this consolidated administration of PDP, has really shown capacity in the facelift of the entire Enugu Urban.
From the elevation of Enugu as the UK Visa center, to the completion of the International conference center, construction and reconstruction of numerous urban roads, ongoing construction of a five star hotel and rehabilitation of the Presidential hotel, for accelerated hospitality in the state.
The visible commitment to overcome unusual traffic in the metropolitan area, especially the intentional provision of the traffic control system at the Holyghost round about areas of Enugu is another show of decisiveness in leadership.
4) GENERAL ROAD NETWORK: It's a fact that under this administration, many kilometers of roads have been completed and commissioned to ease the movement of goods and services.
The incredible ongoing road constructions in the state, designed to allow travellers connect from one Senatorial zone to another is widely commendable.
The ongoing construction of Penoks- Ugwuogo-Opi-Nsukka- road dualization is a product of intentional infrastructural leadership will, of Governor Mbah.
5) HEALTH: This is the first time in the history of the state, typical of 260 type 2 hospitals being constructed, across the wards simultaneously with intense supervision. This health template brought closer to the grassroot has been described as of global standard.
Thousands of jobs will be created for ndi Enugu when these type -2 hospitals are completed.
6) AGRICULTURE: The massive agricultural revolution, championed by this administration, which has witnessed the recent commissioning of a tractor assembly plant in the state is a clear vision towards making Enugu the food basket of the country.
With over 1000 tractors to be shared among the 17 Local Government of the state, it's desirous to state that Enugu is on the move to not only end the food insecurity in the state, but to become the highest exporter of processed food items in West Africa.
The ongoing Farm Estate program in the state, of compulsory 200 hectares per Ward, will move Enugu from consumption to production, with a clear end, to the incessant farmers-herders clash.
7) TRANSPORT SECTOR: Just recently, Enugu has witnessed disruptive leadership in the transport system of the state. Bringing in modern and affordable transport programs to enhance our traveling experience and comfort.
With the recent completion of the major bus terminals at the Holyghost and Nsukka, in addition to the arrival of over 200 CNG buses, Enugu people will experience professional, competitive, affordable and timely transport services. Providing comfort and direction for travellers.
The lunch of Enugu Air with the procurement of Enugu own Aircrafts, has further placed Enugu at the global stage for profitable recognition. That special joy getting to know that you're flying your state owned aircraft is something everyone would be proud to experience.
When the waves of these unmatched development reverberates, the echoes of "tomorrow is here" matra of this administration, grows like a tree planted by the river side.
