BREAKING: Eight Dead in IED Explosion by Boko Haram on Damboa-Maiduguri Road in Borno

A deadly explosion on the Damboa-Maiduguri road in Borno State has claimed the lives of at least eight individuals. The explosion, reportedly caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Boko Haram terrorists, occurred on Saturday. Several others have been injured and are receiving medical treatment.

Local sources confirmed the attack, including Facebook user Ibn Maigana, who expressed his grief over the incident and emphasized the ongoing risks in the area. He called for heightened security measures to protect citizens from the insurgents.

The incident comes amid increasing concerns about Boko Haram's control over certain communities in Borno, as highlighted by Senator Ali Ndume. He revealed that terrorists had taken control of at least three communities, with no government presence in these areas.

Senator Ndume also criticized the state of security in the region, calling for urgent action from President Bola Tinubu, urging a state of emergency to address the worsening crisis.
