Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has dismissed rumors suggesting he is part of a coalition being formed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. In a statement released on Sunday by his chief press secretary, Ahmed Idris, the governor firmly denied the allegations, labeling them as the work of mischief-makers and attention-seekers.
Governor Idris emphasized his unshakable loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating, "I will be the last man standing in APC; I can’t and I will never even harbour the thought of leaving my party to join any coalition belonging to Atiku or anybody." He reaffirmed his commitment to the APC, highlighting that the party has been integral to his political career and current position as governor.
Idris expressed that his primary focus remains on advancing the development of Kebbi State across all sectors, and he will not be distracted by any coalition-related activities. He urged political jobbers to reconsider their attempts to spread such rumors, adding, "I refuse to lose focus on good governance in my state; political jobbers should have a rethink because I will not succumb to their imagination."
This firm statement from the governor comes amid ongoing political developments, with rumors of coalition-building in Nigerian politics intensifying. However, Idris' response underscores his steadfast dedication to the APC and his governance responsibilities in Kebbi.
