BREAKING: 47 Killed in Fresh Attack on Plateau Communities Sunday Night

No fewer than 47 people were killed on Sunday night in a deadly attack on Zike and Kimakpa communities, both located in Kwall District of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The massacre, which occurred around 8:00 p.m., marks another grim chapter in the ongoing violence across Plateau, coming just over a week after a similar attack in Bokkos Local Government Area claimed the lives of 52 residents and left properties worth millions destroyed.

The National Secretary of the Irigwe Development Association, Danjuma Dickson Auta, confirmed the latest killings in a statement from Jos on Monday. He noted that alongside the 47 deaths, many other residents sustained injuries, while several homes were razed.

At the time of reporting, the Plateau State Police Command has yet to release an official statement regarding the attack.

The Plateau State Government has expressed growing concern over the repeated violence and the alleged occupation of local communities by armed groups. The continued presence of these groups is believed to be a major source of the escalating tension and bloodshed in the region.

This latest incident underscores the urgent need for coordinated efforts by security agencies and government at all levels to restore peace and order in Plateau and protect the lives of innocent Nigerians.
