Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, a Catholic priest serving at St. Gerald Quasi Parish, has been abducted by armed bandits in the early hours of Thursday in Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The abduction occurred around 12:15 a.m., according to a statement issued by the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, who confirmed the incident and expressed deep concern over the safety of the priest.
“We solicit your prayers for his quick and safe release,” Fr. Shanet said. He urged the faithful to remain calm and avoid any retaliatory actions, adding that “every legitimate and available means will be deployed to ensure that the cleric returns unharmed and in good health.”
As of the time of this report, the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the incident. The diocese continues to call on security agencies and relevant authorities to act swiftly to secure the priest’s release.
