Sad News on Information Minister Emerge

  


The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has lost his mother-in-law, Hajia Hauwa Yakub Usman, who passed away at the age of 70.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the minister’s media aide, Rabiu Ibrahim, she died on Sunday night in Abuja after a brief illness.

"Hajia Hauwa Yakub Usman passed away on Sunday night in Abuja following a brief illness. She was buried at Gudu Cemetery, Abuja, after funeral prayers at the National Mosque," the statement read.

Her funeral was attended by several prominent figures, including National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Atiku Bagudu, and Mr. Ibidapo Okunnu, who oversees the Office of the Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

Also present were Directors General of major government agencies, including Dr. Mohammed Bulama of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Mallam Jibrin Ndace of Voice of Nigeria, Comrade Abdulhamid Dembos of the Nigerian Television Authority, and Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria.

The statement further noted that Hajia Hauwa Yakub Usman is survived by her children and grandchildren.
