In a move aimed at fostering economic sustainability and easing financial burdens on small-scale traders, the Governor of Niger State, His Excellency Mohammed Umaru Bago, has announced that hawkers and petty traders will no longer be required to pay taxes in the state.
The governor made this declaration in Minna on Tuesday, emphasizing that the initiative aligns with his administration’s vision of creating a sustainable and inclusive economy for all citizens, regardless of their economic status.
“This policy is designed to empower small businesses, encourage entrepreneurship, and ensure that every citizen has a fair opportunity to thrive,” Governor Bago stated.
