Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, Ayodeji Richard Makun, popularly known as Comedian AY, has expressed disappointment over viral AI-generated photos and videos falsely depicting him kissing May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, during a flight to London.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday night, AY called on digital creators to use their talents for nation-building rather than spreading false narratives.
He also referenced his colleague and reality TV star, Alex Unusual, stating that she is still struggling with misleading rumors about their alleged romantic involvement. AY questioned whether people were deliberately trying to drive away everyone associated with him.
AY urged for unity and positivity, emphasizing that Nigeria’s future depends on collective efforts to uplift and support one another rather than tearing each other down.
