Ohanaeze Youths Celebrate Beatrice Ekweremadu's Return, Hopeful for Husband's Release

The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has celebrated the return of Mrs. Beatrice Ekweremadu, the wife of former Deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ekweremadu, describing it as a divine event.

According to Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the National President of the group, the organization had tirelessly advocated for the release of the couple, and he remains hopeful that Senator Ekweremadu will soon return home. The news of Mrs. Ekweremadu’s return sparked widespread celebrations in Enugu, with Okwu stating, “We are highly delighted with the news of Mrs. Ekweremadu’s return to Nigeria.” He recalled the organization’s efforts to secure their release, including appeals to former President Muhammadu Buhari, which were unsuccessful.

Okwu expressed gratitude that the couple remains in high spirits, saying, “The return of the wife gladdens our heart and brings closer the imminent return of the number one builder of men in Enugu State.” He praised Senator Ekweremadu’s positive impact on many lives, noting that his return will bring complete joy to the people of Enugu.

Mrs. Ekweremadu’s return follows her release from prison in the United Kingdom, where she and her husband were convicted for their involvement in organ harvesting. Senator Ekweremadu received a 10-year sentence, while his wife was sentenced to six years in prison.

The Ohanaeze Youths have continued to stand by the Ekweremadu family, hoping for the swift return of Senator Ekweremadu to continue his selfless service to the people of Enugu State and Nigeria at large.
