The Facebook account of Kazeem Akinleye, the Chief of Staff to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has been taken over by hackers.
This development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Office of the Chief of Staff and shared with journalists on Friday.
Akinleye stated that the fraudsters have started using the social media page to communicate with unsuspecting members of the public regarding official matters. The statement clarified that the Chief of Staff does not use his Facebook page for official communication regarding state matters, urging the public to disregard any communication originating from the compromised account.
The statement also warned of potential fraudulent activities by those currently controlling the account and advised residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious interactions.
The statement reads:
“This is to inform members of the public that the Facebook account of Osun State Chief of Staff has been hacked. We are also aware at the Office of the Chief Staff that the fraudster has started using the page to communicate with unsuspecting members of the public regarding official matters. Anyone who receives any communication through the Facebook account of Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye should disregard it so as not to fall victim of fraudsters.”
