Mudashiru Obasa, the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has asserted that he remains the legitimate speaker of the assembly, based on constitutional provisions. Obasa made this statement during a welcome event organized in his honor by his supporters from Agege, Alimosho, and Kosofe local government areas in Ikeja GRA on Saturday.
Despite being removed from office by his colleagues over allegations of gross misconduct and financial mismanagement, Obasa argues that the process of his removal did not follow the constitutional procedures. He emphasized that he would accept his removal only if it was carried out in accordance with the constitutional guidelines.
