FABIAN IKENNA AJOGWU SAN (Founding Partner, Kenna Partners)
Professor Fabian Ikenna Ajogwu is one of Nigeria's most seasoned litigators, recognized as Nigeria's first Professor of Corporate Law and Governance, and a renowned boardroom expert.
Born on the 23rd of July, 1970, he is the son of Dr. Michael Ajogwu (SAN) and Caroline Ajogwu.
Fabian is a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree. He furthered his education with a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from the University of Lagos, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Navarra, Spain, and a PhD in Law from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
He has also attended executive courses at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, the Aspen Institute of the University of Colorado, Lagos Business School, and the Said Business School of Oxford University.
Professor Ajogwu is the founder of Kenna Partners, a law firm that has grown to become a Tier 1 service law firm with offices in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu. He possesses extensive expertise in deal structuring, having advised on some of the most complex transactions in Nigeria's financial and energy sectors. Notably, he was instrumental in drafting the pioneering Code of Corporate Governance for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), which is still used in the telecommunications sector.
In 2009, at just 39 years old, Fabian was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), making him the youngest person from Enugu State to achieve this distinction.
As a corporate governance expert, Fabian has been appointed to the boards of numerous companies as an Independent Executive Director. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of ARM Infrastructure and Novara Group and is a board member of Stanbic IBTC Holdings and Guinness Nigeria PLC. He has also been on the boards of Tantalizer, PZ Cussons, Seplat Energy PLC, and LEAP Africa.
Fabian is the author of nine books and co-author of six others. He is the President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Chairman of the Governing Board of Wigwe University, Isiokpo, Rivers State.
Earlier this year, he was appointed as the South East representative on the Board of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).
A respected lawyer, corporate governance expert, father, and husband to Ifeoma Ajogwu, Fabian has been honored with numerous awards, including the Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) national award bestowed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
