Breaking News! Enugu Anti-Cult Police Unit Gets New Commander

The Nigeria Police Force has reportedly appointed SP Ugochukwu Ozoude as the new commander of the Anti-Cultism Unit in Enugu State, following the removal of the previous commander.

SP Ozoude will take over from SP Ekeleme Chidobe, who was redeployed following the fatal accidental shooting of Enugu-based musician Chikezie Okezie Nwamba, popularly known as Igbojah. The incident, which occurred at the Anti-Cult Unit, led to the death of the musician. The officer responsible, Inspector Ozonwanji Joseph, has been charged with murder and is currently in the correctional center.

Recall that the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Uzuegbu, emphasized the decision to redeploy SP Chidobe as a necessary measure to ensure a thorough review of the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad’s operations. CP Uzuegbu reiterated the commitment of the police force to uphold professionalism and accountability in all operations.

The appointment of SP Ozoude is expected to bring renewed leadership and restore public confidence in the Anti-Cult Unit's work in tackling cult-related violence and crime across the state.
