Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has appointed Abdulhaleem Ishaq Ringim as his Special Assistant on Economic Matters, effective immediately. The announcement was made in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Malam Ibraheem Musa.
Abdulhaleem Ishaq Ringim is a distinguished figure in the fields of policy, politics, public affairs, and economics. He holds a first-class degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and is an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), where he participated in the 48th cohort of the Institute’s Policy, Strategy, and Leadership Course (PSLC). Ringim has also earned certifications in Policymaking, Green Economy & Trade, and Energy Economics, Environment, and Policy from reputable institutions such as the British Council, UNITAR, and ADBI.
Throughout his career, Ringim has gained significant experience in various management-assistive and policy advisory roles. He has served as the Personal Assistant to the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board and as Special Assistant to the Commissioner of Agriculture in Kaduna State. Additionally, he worked at the Kaduna Capital Territory Authority (KCTA) as an assistant to the Administrator/Commissioner for a year. Ringim also served as the Research and Documentation Lead for the Kaduna Office of Resilience and as the Program Coordinator for the Climate Action Index program of the Center for Climate Action, Innovation, and Engagement.
In addition to his extensive experience, Ringim provides consultation on policy, strategy, and management matters for various entities, including government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), civil society organizations, and the private sector. His outstanding contributions have earned him several accolades, including the Royal African Young Leadership Forum (RAYLF) Award in 2022 and induction as a Member of the Royal Court (MRC) in the Kingdom of Ife. He was also recognized as one of the ten honorees for the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) of Nigeria Award by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria in 2023. Furthermore, Ringim was listed among the 100 Most Influential Powers Behind The State (BTS 100) for 2023 by StateCraft Inc. and was shortlisted for the Future Awards Africa Prize for Governance in 2024.
