200 youths have been appointed today to serve as special assistants in the administration of Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State. The appointments, which include both male and female appointees, were confirmed during a ceremony held at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
During the event, the state APC Chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru, commended the governor for fulfilling his campaign promises and for promoting gender inclusivity in his appointments. Kana-Zuru also highlighted key achievements under the Idris administration, including the free distribution of fertilizers, support for small businesses among farmers, food aid to the community, the construction of roads with solar-powered street lights in the state capital, and the completion of a multibillion-naira ultra-modern state secretariat.
“If you haven’t visited Kebbi in the last one or two years, you will be amazed at the transformation,” Kana-Zuru said. “His Excellency runs an open and inclusive government, ensuring that everyone benefits from democracy.”
The APC Women Leader in Kebbi, A’isha Gulabi, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the appointees, emphasizing that the appointments would have a broad, positive impact on the community. “These appointments are not just for the appointees; they are for all of us,” she said, adding that many people would benefit from the positions.
Gulabi encouraged the appointed youths to maintain loyalty and respect, and urged those still awaiting appointments to be patient, assuring them that opportunities would soon arise.
The appointees praised Governor Idris, describing him as a leader dedicated to serving the people and ensuring that the benefits of democracy reach every corner of Kebbi State. These appointments are seen as part of the governor’s broader strategy to involve youth in governance and promote statewide development, aligning with his administration's commitment to fulfilling its campaign promises and fostering sustainable progress.
