The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, today commissioned newly built modern shops at Orie-toro Market in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area. This initiative marks a key milestone in Governor Soludo’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and promoting organized trading environments within Anambra State.
The newly constructed shops are part of a larger urban renewal project, aimed at providing traders with a structured, conducive space to conduct their businesses while decongesting streets traditionally crowded with traders. The Governor highlighted that the allocation of these shops would be entirely free for petty traders, ensuring they have a designated area to continue their business activities without financial barriers.
Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Soludo emphasized his administration's dedication to supporting grassroots economic growth and creating opportunities for local traders to thrive. “This initiative is about creating an enabling environment for small-scale traders, giving them a dignified space without additional costs. It’s also about improving the quality of life in Agulu by eliminating the risks and inconveniences associated with street trading,” he remarked.
The event also coincides with the ongoing dualization of the Nwa-Agu Agulu road, a vital project aimed at improving access and transportation flow in the area. Governor Soludo assured the public of his administration’s continued commitment to infrastructural improvements across Anambra State, citing that projects like these are part of his larger vision encapsulated in his campaign slogans, #SolutionIsHere, #SolutionAbiago, and #SolutionContinues.
