BREAKING: Former Deputy Governor Dies!




Former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Professor Amos Utuama (SAN), has passed away at the age of 77. Utuama, a respected figure in the political and legal circles, served as Deputy Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015 under then-Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.


Born on June 5, 1947, Utuama’s legacy extends beyond his tenure as Deputy Governor. He was previously Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice during Chief James Ibori's administration, where he played a significant role in advancing legal reforms and policy implementations within the state. His contributions in this role were instrumental in shaping the judicial landscape of Delta State and have left a lasting impact on the state's governance.


Throughout his career, Utuama was deeply committed to the development and unity of Delta State, especially within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Delta Central region. His dedication to public service earned him the admiration and respect of many within and outside the state. In June, he was celebrated by Delta's Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, who lauded Utuama's enduring commitment to the public good on his 77th birthday.
