Fatima Buhari, the daughter of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has been appointed as the first ambassador for the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN). This achievement comes shortly after her appointment as the Coordinator for the Katsina State chapter of the Professional Women Accountants in Nigeria (PROWAN). The announcement of her new role was made during a dinner celebrating the appointment of ANAN's newly elected leadership.
During the event, the National President of ANAN, James Neminebor, urged the new executives to prioritize the promotion of professional excellence in their respective states. He also emphasized the need for the adoption of professional accounting practices to foster financial transparency in both the public and private sectors.
In her speech, Fatima Buhari expressed her excitement and pride in her new role, describing it as a groundbreaking achievement for women accountants, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
