Again, Bomb Explosion Hits Jos City

A powerful explosion struck the bustling Terminus market area in Jos, Plateau State, on Tuesday morning, creating widespread panic as the city grappled with the aftermath. The explosion, which occurred around 10 a.m., was powerful enough to shake nearby buildings, prompting immediate evacuation as traders and residents fled in fear.

Eyewitnesses at the scene described a chaotic and terrifying atmosphere as the explosion sent shockwaves through the area. Gyang Buba, a clothes vendor who was near the incident, recounted, “I was nearby when I heard a loud bang. I saw people running and screaming. It was terrifying.” Several people sustained injuries, although the full extent of casualties remains unclear, and reports are circulating that there may have been fatalities.

Security and emergency response teams quickly mobilized to the scene, with personnel from the police, fire department, and medical services arriving promptly to contain the situation and administer first aid to those affected. Authorities have cordoned off the market as they initiate investigations to determine the cause of the explosion.

A representative from the Jos police command confirmed the incident and assured the public of their commitment to restoring safety. “We urge calm and assure the public that we will do everything possible to ensure their safety,” the source added.

At the time of this report, neither the Plateau State government nor the police have released an official statement. However, security agencies have launched a full-scale investigation, focusing on uncovering the origin and nature of the explosion as they work to secure the area and support affected residents.
