Panic has spread across the Elewuro area in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State following the brutal murder of a 30-year-old man identified as Delo. His lifeless body was discovered in his room on Wednesday evening, October 16, 2024.
According to local sources, Delo was last seen in his room, but the exact circumstances of his death remain unknown. Concerns were raised when Delo’s brother knocked on his door repeatedly without receiving a response. Alarmed by the silence, tenants opened a window and found Delo lying motionless on his bed.
The Fagun Police Division was alerted, and upon arrival, the officers forced the door open. They found visible bruises on Delo’s face, neck, and other parts of his body, raising suspicions of foul play. Police immediately arrested Delo's brother after finding his phone in the brother’s possession before entering the room.
Delo's remains were later transferred to the morgue as the investigation commenced. The police confirmed that an inquiry is underway, with the State CID in Akure tasked with handling the case. Shock and grief have engulfed the community, with family and friends visibly shaken by the tragic news.
A police source noted that upon receiving the tenants' distress call, officers were quickly dispatched to secure the scene, retrieve the body, and take the suspect into custody for further investigation.
