SAD! APC Candidate Shot and Stoned to Death

 



All Progressives Congress (APC) councillorship candidate in Ogun State, Adeleke Adeyinka was brutally murdered on Saturday afternoon by unidentified assailants along Osoba Way in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The former youth leader of Ward 15 in Abeokuta South was reportedly shot and then stoned to death by his attackers, who fled the scene in an unregistered vehicle.

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting an outcry from the APC Youth Leaders Forum, who have condemned the killing and called for swift justice. In a joint statement issued by Comrade Kabir Odedairo, the Youth Leader of Abeokuta South Local Government, and Comrade Timothy Odedina, the forum’s State Public Relations Officer, the group described the murder as senseless and horrific.

“We strongly condemn this senseless and horrific act, which has left our community shaken and grieving. The fact that Adeleke was shot and stoned to death by unknown assailants in a tinted car is particularly disturbing and requires immediate attention from law enforcement agencies,” the statement read.

The forum has urged security agencies to launch a thorough investigation into the murder and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. They also emphasized the need for enhanced security in the area to prevent further violence.

The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers, suspected to be cultists, arrived in an unregistered Toyota Corolla, opened fire on 40-year-old Adeleke, and then fled the scene. The police have launched an investigation into the crime.

The community, alongside members of the APC, is in mourning over the loss of a promising leader. The APC Youth Leaders Forum has reiterated its call for heightened security measures in Abeokuta to ensure the safety of residents.
