The Action Peoples Party (APP) has emerged victorious in 22 out of the 23 chairmanship positions contested in the Rivers State local government election. This announcement was made by the Chief Election Officer of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), Justice Adolphus Enebeli, on Saturday in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
While declaring the results, Justice Enebeli mentioned that the outcome for Etche Local Government Area has been temporarily withheld as collation of results is still ongoing in that region. He assured that the results for Etche LGA, along with those of the 319 councillorship seats, will be released at a later time once the process is completed.
This significant win underscores the APP’s political dominance in the Rivers State local elections. However, the political situation in Etche LGA remains unresolved, awaiting the conclusion of vote collation and result declaration.
