In the wake of the People's Democratic Party’s (PDP) landslide victory in the recently concluded local government elections in Enugu State, Hon. Tony Nwagbo, the Enugu State PDP Assistant Organizing Secretary who also doubles the Enugu North Senatorial Zone organizing Secretary of PDP, has praised the exemplary leadership of Governor Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. Nwagbo highlighted Governor Mbah’s transformative governance as a key factor behind the PDP’s overwhelming success in the polls. According to him, Governor Mbah’s focus on infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and economic growth resonated deeply with the people, leading to a massive voter turnout in favor of the PDP.
"Governor Mbah’s visionary leadership has not only transformed Enugu State but also strengthened the PDP’s standing in the state," Hon. Nwagbo stated. "His development initiatives and commitment to the people of Enugu have inspired confidence, and the election results reflect the trust the electorate has in his leadership."
Hon. Nwagbo also extended commendation to Dr. Martin Chukwunwike, the State Chairman of the PDP, for his tactical leadership and strategic oversight throughout the election process. He attributed the PDP’s victory to Dr. Chukwunwike’s organizational skill and dedication to fairness and transparency. "Dr. Chukwunwike has set a new standard for political leadership in Enugu State. His ability to unify the party and lead with integrity played a pivotal role in securing this victory," Nwagbo remarked.
The PDP emerged victorious in all 17 local government areas of Enugu State, a feat that Hon. Nwagbo attributed to the unwavering support of the people and the effective leadership of the party at all levels. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected 17 local government chairmen, urging them to remain steadfast in delivering the dividends of democracy to their constituencies. He emphasized the importance of fulfilling campaign promises and working collaboratively to achieve sustainable development at the local level.
In addition to the newly elected chairmen, Hon. Nwagbo also congratulated the 260 ward councillors who secured victory under the PDP’s banner. He encouraged them to maintain a close connection with the people and to prioritize transparency and accountability in their governance. According to Nwagbo, the councillors play a crucial role in ensuring that the party’s vision for grassroots development is realized.
Hon. Nwagbo further commended the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) for conducting smooth, free, and fair elections.
