Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) candidate in Nkanu East Local Government Area, on thursday 12th September kicked off campaign rallies for her candidates at Amankanu development center for the forthcoming Enugu State local government council election.The people came out en-masse to receive the campaign train of Sydney Okechukwu/Paul Okwor.
Speaking during the event at the development centre, the PDP Chairman in Nkanu East Hon Cornelius Ede enjoined supporters to work for the party’s victory at the polls.
He called for unity among the supporters and urged them to see the party as an indivisible family, vowing to make Nkanu East an opposition free LGA by ensuring that those who are yet to join the PDP are brought into the party within the campaign season.
The stakeholders of Amankanu development centre drawn from various communities in their separate speeches assured Hon Okechukwu Sydney Edeh and councilors of unalloyed support and solidarity at all times.
"We are happy with the party especially now that our son Barr Ndubuisi Peter Mbah is the Governor. Idodo zone is PDP stronghold in Nkanu East since 1999.
They maintained that the PDP is assured of a landslide victory in the forthcoming LG elections because of Gov. Mbah's exemplary innovative leadership qualities which they said have entrenched peace and good governance in Enugu State.
Speaking at the rally, which witnessed a huge crowd, the Director General of the campaign organization and member representing Nkanu East at the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon Okechuwu Mbah , hailed the emergence of Hon. Okechukwu Sydney Edeh as the PDP chairmanship candidate in Nkanu East, stressing that his candidature was a popular choice and devoid of rancour. He further told the people of Amankanu to come out en-masse on 21st of September 2024 to vote for Hon Edeh.

Hon Edeh, eulogized the governor for his humility, compassion, steadfastness, vision and developmental strides in the state, inspite of the nation’s challenges.
He promised the people that his administration if elected will touch many areas. According to him " I will run open governance initiatives to enhance the well-being of our people through infrastructure, youth empowerment, agriculture and better health care for our people.
