Breaking News: Peter Obi Expresses Readiness to Align with Candidates Sharing His Vision for Nigeria's Future

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his readiness to merge forces with any political figure whose goals align with his vision for a better Nigeria. Obi, who made this statement during an exclusive interview with New Central TV, emphasized that his primary ambition is not the presidency itself but the advancement of the nation. He remains open to the idea of being part of a political ticket as Vice President if he believes the other candidate can better achieve his vision for Nigeria's development.

When asked about the possibility of accepting a vice-presidential role in the upcoming 2027 elections, Obi stressed that he is not fixated on personal political titles. "Honestly, I’m not desperate to be the President of Nigeria; my urgency lies in seeing Nigeria thrive. If I encounter individuals who can accomplish that better, I would contemplate being Vice President," he stated. He further explained that his decision would be based on the competence and alignment of goals with any potential partner in such a political merger.

While committed to the Labour Party, Peter Obi expressed openness to discussions with other political figures, provided their goals mirror his passion for national progress. “Absolutely, I will remain with the Labour Party. However, if anyone approaches us for negotiations or collaboration, they must articulate their intentions clearly," Obi said.

He reiterated his refusal to align with anyone merely for the sake of political power, emphasizing that any collaboration must prioritize the welfare of Nigeria, particularly its children. "I want to know how we can ensure that no child is left behind and how we can reintegrate the millions of out-of-school children into the education system," Obi said.

Obi’s remarks highlight his dedication to Nigeria's growth and his willingness to partner with others if it leads to meaningful progress for the country, even if it means stepping into a vice-presidential role in the future.
